In 2001, a small group of salsa enthusiasts started a weekly night of salsa lessons and social dancing. Salsa Bangor has grown over the years into a vibrant and friendly dance community.
We are organised by a volunteer committee and taught by volunteer members of the club – something that makes Salsa Bangor quite unique in the dancing world!
Every Thursday night, new people arrive and are taught their first steps with us. Our aim is to turn them all into happy social dancers. Salsa Bangor welcomes people who are brand new to dancing, experienced dancers, and everyone in between.
We organise classes and events that include other Latin dances that are related to salsa, such as bachata, kizomba, and cha cha. We regularly bring in guest teachers for change of style nights and parties. As well as our regular Thursday nights, we have monthly Saturday Salsa Workshops and Sunday Matinee Socials every couple of months. Our summer parties attract dancers from further afield and get bigger every year!
We ask that everyone at Salsa Bangor contributes to the ethos of the club and is respectful to everyone at all times. Please see our Code of Conduct for guidance. We have several policies designed to protect those who attend Salsa Bangor. Please speak to a member of the committee or contact us if you have a problem or feel uncomfortable at Salsa Bangor.
